Their name means “no water” because koala’s in the wild rarely drink water. They live off the poisonous leaves of the eucalyptus tree. And there are more unique facts about the koala. They are the only species of their animal family. They are called “koala bear” as well, but they are not related to bears. They just look equally cuddly. They are somewhat related to wombats though. 

Every once in a while you’ll see these horrible pictures of koalas being saved out of burning woods. It’s such a sad sight, because it’s sad for the koalas who lost their home, but not all koalas find safety during a forest fire. And on top of that: a lot of forest is disappearing. So they are losing their homes big time. 

So this koala character is adding up the numbers and came to the conclusion that we humans need to do better.
